This illustration was conceived to help brand the Competitive Edge blog on the Equitable Growth website. Competitive Edge is a monthly series featuring leading experts in antitrust enforcement on a broad range of topics related to competition policy and is aimed at promoting the development of sharp and effective tools to increase competition in the U.S. economy. The octopus image, above, updates an iconic editorial cartoon first published in 1904 in the magazine Puck to portray the Standard Oil monopoly.
